All authors have substantially contributed to this article. ABSTRACT Vaccine hesitancy is complex and a threat to global public health during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Our objective was to determine factors associated with caregivers’ willingness to vaccinate children despite not being immunized themselves against COVID-19. Canada, Israel, and Switzerland during November-December 2021. Of a total of 4,536 caregivers who completed the survey, 882 (19.4%) were unvaccinated, and 62 (7.0%) of the unvaccinated planned to vaccinate their children. Unvaccinated caregivers with children that had their childhood vaccines up-to-date (OR 3.03 (1.36, 8.09), p=0.01), and those very worried their child has COVID-19 in the ED (OR 3.11 (1.44, 6.34), p<0.01) were much more likely to plan to immunize their children. Primary care providers and public health agencies should not assume that unvaccinated parents will not vaccinate their children. Or soon would, according to artist Edward W. Clay ’s alarmist predictions about the end results of the growing abolitionist movement. Dancing was not the worst that Clay envisioned in the series of prints he entitled Practical Amalgamation ( Figure I.1 ). In the new society brought on by abolitionism, Clay warned, white women and black men would openly court, marry, and produce interracial children. The mixing of the races that resulted would inevitably lead to the end of white female purity and white male supremacy in the United States. Such was the future that Clay and others portended as they sought to discredit abolitionists, whose calls for immediate emancipation and racial equality were growing louder and more insistent by the late 1830s. In visual and written texts, antebellum artists and authors on all sides of the slavery issue, from abolitionists to proslavery advocates, regularly placed white women alongside enslaved men, occupying the same physical space. Yet unlike Clay’s prints, which unambiguously represented this proximity as romantic intimacy, most antebellum texts eschewed any overtly sexual element when they portrayed white girls and women in the company of African American men. The creators of these texts also eliminated the negative connotations that Clay had invoked in his engravings. Rather than depicting associations between black men and white women as taboo and scandalous, most antebellum authors portrayed them as nonthreatening, or even desirable. Jonathan is a first year Mechanical Engineering major. Donald: Justin King This is Justin’s debut in theatre. He was always interested in the arts but never had the guts to go through with it. Justin is very excited about creating an acting lifetsyle along with his major. During his spare time, Justin works with the athletics department doing “athletic stuff“ but thinks that the theatre is much more worth it. Justin is a first year Technical Communication major.
