Being dependent on one or several sources of electricity generation is an important risk factor for the industry and economy of the country. A problem in the supply of one of these resources or an increase in prices may adversely affect the entire country’s industry and therefore the economy. In this research, we measured the concentration of the resources Turkey uses in electricity generation between the years 2000-2020. We used the Herfindahl-Hirschman and concentration indices. The resource concentration in Turkey’s electricity production started to decrease towards the end of the period. Reducing the use of natural gas and more use of geothermal, solar, and wind resources have been effective in this result. While Turkey produced 49.8% of its electricity production using natural gas in 2008, this rate decreased to 23.1% in 2020. While Turkey provided 95.6% of its electricity production from four sources in 2002, this rate decreased to 81.3% in 2020. These rates show that Turkey has increased diversification in electricity generation, but this diversification is still not sufficient.","PeriodicalId":230899,"journal":{"name":"Volume 3, Issue 2","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124281556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Enerji tüketiminde artış, birincil enerji kaynakları yeterli düzeyde olmayan ülkelerde enerji ithalatı, bağımlılığı ve cari açık surekli olarak artış göstermiştir. Fosil enerji arzı yetersiz olan Türkiye’ nin kalkınma hızını arttırabilmek için GSYİH’ nın önemli bir kısmını dış enerji girdilerine harcamak zorunda kalmaktadır. Bu da enerjide dış bağımlılığın ve cari açığın art-masında etkili olmaktadır. Çalışmada, 1990-2020 yıllarını kapsayan dönemde enerji bağımlılığı ile cari açık ilişkisi ADF, PP ve LS Birim Kök, Hacker ve Hatemi-J Simetrik ve zamanla değişen nedensellik testleriyle analiz edilmiş-tir. Test sonuçlarına göre 1995-2007, 2000-2010 ve 2010-2020 dönemleri için enerji bağımlılığından cari açığa, 1998-2007 ve 2008-2017 dönemler için ise cari açıktan enerji bağımlılığına doğru nedensellik ilişkisinin olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu bağlamda Türkiye’ de kalkınma ve ekonomik büyüme hedeflerinin gerçekleştirilebilmesi için enerji politikalarını alternatif enerji yatırımlarına doğru yapılması, enerji kaynaklarının çeşitlendirilmesi ve verimliliğinin arttırılması gerekmektedir. Bunun için alternatif enerji yatırımlarının ve üretiminin arttırılması ile enerji bağımlılı-ğının ve cari açığın azaltılması mümkün olabilecektir.","PeriodicalId":230899,"journal":{"name":"Volume 3, Issue 2","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128438528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Texas (2017), the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Texas death penalty definitions of intellectual disability were inadequate because they strayed too far from clinical definitions. This study examines how each state defines intellectual disability with regard to death penalty eligibility. It reveals a wide variation in the standards used by states, with no clear consensus on definitions of intellectual disability or who should measure it. Variations pertain to age at onset, proof of intellectual disability status at the time of the crime, burden of proof required to make the intellectual disability determination, and who makes the final decision. Implications and suggestions for the future are discussed.","PeriodicalId":230899,"journal":{"name":"Volume 3, Issue 2","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124240174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, the Court maintained that they should be given the opportunity to demonstrate their changed characters and earn a chance at release from prison. In this article, we rely on the research on life sentence prisoner adjustment, together with our experience as experts in juvenile life-withoutparole re-sentencing cases. We trace the maturation and development of juveniles sentenced to life terms, a multifaceted process that ultimately leads most juveniles sentenced to life to become solid citizens of the prison community who desist from misconduct, secure regular employment, participate in programs, and develop prosocial identities and reference groups that make them good candidates for release in due course. A caveat is that maturation in prison often entails a selfdefensive hardening of emotions that will need to be addressed in reentry programs.","PeriodicalId":230899,"journal":{"name":"Volume 3, Issue 2","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133638050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
