In social life there has been a lot of friction or conflict between people who have the same belief or different beliefs, this is one of the implications of the existence of different points of view from each individual. The role of religion in this case still needs to be strengthened to foster harmony in society. Hinduism has taught many values of togetherness with the aim that society is well integrated. Every adherent of a religion has its own truth values and teachings, behind the plurality that is owned it is necessary to maintain harmony without having to demean other religions, this is a challenge for the government in realizing harmony behind diversity. The concept of moderation is the solution in realizing a nation that is peaceful, full of tolerance and harmony. Where is the teaching of tolerance in Hinduism which prioritizes humanity in people's lives, apart from that the concept of ahimsa which emphasizes compassion as a form of implementing non-violence values, as well as the concept of yama brata as a teaching that gives understanding to people to control themselves so they can carry out the principles contained in this nation and the teachings of tattwan asi which lead humanity to the universal family. This tradition is still carried out in the community, usually related to the implementation of the pañca yajña, but lately it has rarely been carried out because there has been a shift with the buffet system which is considered more economical. Apart from being efficient, this is due to the lack of understanding of the younger generation about the meaning contained in the megibung tradition. In fact, the megibung tradition has a social and theological significances. Therefore the author tries to examine the megibung tradition from the perspective of social theology, namely a critical study of socio religious activities. In the past, Saraswati was only performed in Gria-gria, in a puri or in a certain place, so in subsequent developments it has become a holiday that is welcomed by all Hindus. The celebration of Saraswati shows that Hindus crave and glorify knowledge because knowledge exalts human life. In addition, knowledge has been proven to make human life easier. As stated by Maslow, this dissatisfaction is partly because humans have needs that are hierarchically increasing in line with the achievement of lower needs, they will try or desire to achieve other higher needs. To satisfy their curiosity, humans make efforts, both consciously and sometimes unconsciously. Human efforts to fulfill this curiosity then produce two types of knowledge, namely ordinary knowledge and scientific knowledge. This study uses a qualitative approach with data obtained through library research and documentation studies. The data that has been collected is then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation to conclusions and the data is presented in the form of an exploratory narrative.
