We investigate in point rendering as well as Smoothed-particle hydrodynamics (SPH) interpolation and apply them to visualize the data in a 3D environment. Paraview was used for the rendering task. Some parameters of points in the software were adjusted to find well-qualified visualizations. These approaches provide a clear vision to the impact of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) on surrounding matter, and thus, we can gain more information for understanding the nature of AGNs and the universe.","PeriodicalId":222559,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Scientific Visualization Conference (SciVis)","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125381883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the context of the IEEE Scientific Visualization Contest 2019, we developed a number of visualizations that concentrate on the temporal and spatial evolution of different galactic particle types, such as stars and active galactic nuclei. We visualize the interplay with scalar attributes, compute derived quantities and visualize flow properties that are governed by the attracting galactic web. The combination of multiple visualizations provides complementing views onto different aspects of the data.","PeriodicalId":222559,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Scientific Visualization Conference (SciVis)","volume":"646 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122700734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our submission, we analyze high-dimensional data to get an overview, then investigate the impact of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs) using various visualization techniques, for instance, an adapted filament filtering method for detailed analysis and particle flow in the vicinity of filaments. Based on feedback from domain scientists on these initial visualizations, we also analyzed X-ray emissions and star formation areas. The conversion of star-forming gas to stars and the resulting increasing molecular weight of the particles could be observed.","PeriodicalId":222559,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Scientific Visualization Conference (SciVis)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123067763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
