The video begins with a dramatization illustrating the shortcomings of existing slide-ware tools identified through our prior research. We then describe our theoretical framework for addressing these identified problems and present a dramatization of the process by which our NextSlidePlease application can be used to overcome such issues in a business context. In addition, we illustrate the novel functional aspects of our application algorithm that enable effective time management and flexible presentations. Finally, we present promising results from two user studies.","PeriodicalId":219657,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the seventeen ACM international conference on Multimedia - MM '09","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125930185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system can (1) recommend popular places for a given region; (2) characterize comprehensive aspects (e.g., landmarks, styles, activities) for a location; and (3) show representative images for a landmark. A novel user interface is designed to provide a better user experience, by organizing both the textual and visual information generated by dedicated travelers in an attractive way.","PeriodicalId":219657,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the seventeen ACM international conference on Multimedia - MM '09","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117196278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
