Even the skills of cultural heritage literacy, which form the basis of this process, are important for everyone, these skills are much more necessary for information professionals who have the responsibility to provide service in the area of cultural heritage. Evaluating cultural heritage literacy skills of information professional candidates, carries a great importance in order to understand whether they have adequate qualification while serving as a professional and to determine necessary training subjects they need. In this study, it is aimed to determine the current situation of the students of Hacettepe University Department of Information Management on cultural heritage literacy. For this purpose, a questionnaire of 28-question was sent to 356 undergraduate students via e-mail in 2018-2019 Spring Semester. 142 students answered to whole questionnaire. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and a chi-square test. Findings showed that most of the participants have efficient cultural heritage literacy skills, and they have dominant competences in recognizing their information necessities regarding cultural heritage and sharing their cultural heritage information. It also evaluated the modes and periods of course delivery for their appropriateness and adequacy to achieve the goal of making the students lifelong learners. The survey design was adopted for the study and the content analysis method was used to compare the course contents of the use of the library programmes in the universities with the five information literacy competencies. Results of the study showed that the use of the library curricula contained items that teach the five information literacy competencies including abilities to locate, access, retrieve, evaluate and use information effectively and efficiently. It was also found that the course delivery period in the universities was usually one semester of 12 weeks and the usual mode of delivery was classroom face-to-face approach The findings implied that the contents of the course were suitable to make students lifelong learners but the mode and period of delivery may not be fit enough for the purpose. The practical implication of the findings of the study is that the universities should review the timing and methods of course delivery such that it would impart lifelong learning skills to the students. This paper is a review of literature on disasters experienced by libraries in some developing nations, with a view to discovering workable solutions that would help to either prevent or manage future occurrences. It examined library disasters in Egypt, Philippines, Nepal, Jamaica, Nigeria and Malawi among others. The paper observed that the initial response of the affected libraries to these disasters was poor. It therefore advocated for the need for disaster plan and preparedness among libraries and librarians in developing countries. It further suggested the following as the way forward – conduct of risk assessment, formulation of disaster plan and policies, mitigation, quick response to disaster and workable recovery plan among others. Quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design research was adopted for the present study. Faculty of architecture, Department of Architecture students (n=233) participated the study. Students answered to Attitude toward Plagiarism (ATP) scale. Data analysis carried out utilizing SPSS. Students’ level of attitudes were found to be moderate for both three dimensions, Positive Attitudes, Negative Attitudes, and Subjective Norms. The students have lack of plagiarism knowledge. Students believe that plagiarism is not good but a community issue. The act to plagiarizing depends on situations. Methodological terms and time limit are leading in causing plagiarism. Plagiarism is primarily an expert issue and students should not be punished for the act, particularly for self-plagiarism. Girls are more sensitive to plagiarism issues than boys. Attitudes to plagiarism changes favorably with grade increase. In the process of reforming education and science in Ukraine, several initiatives have been implemented at the legislative level for improving quality of research and its presentation by Ukrainian scientists, including research in the library science. The paper presents the results of the study of the publishing activity of PhD students in the Ukrainian library science (2015-2017). The results indicate that Ukrainian LIS PhD students published their papers in the journals with a limited reader audience, mainly in Ukrainian journals and regional journals of the countries bordering with Ukraine.
