Popular education, in its inclusive and anti-hegemonic praxis, proposes constant reflection on the political, social and cultural aspects of its and its protagonists. In addition to this approach, there are several themes that, in their visualities, teach us about the ways of seeing peasants. Based on concerns about the ways in which peasants visually express femininity and masculinity, we intend to investigate: How photographic expression can contribute to the gender debate, in the context of popular education in an agrarian reform settlement in Rio de Janeiro? Objective. Evaluate the contribution of photographic language to the promotion of popular education in gender within the settlement. Method. The proposal was developed using the participatory research method. Results. The analysis of the data indicated the incidence of gender issues in the lives of the participants, in addition to pointing out the use of photography as a way of expression in the daily lives of the participants. Conclusions. Photographic expression can help promote discussions about gender issues. In addition, it can assist in the expression of visualities and reflection in spaces that promote popular and inclusive education, based on welcoming diversity in its many facets.","PeriodicalId":193094,"journal":{"name":"Investigação Qualitativa em Educação: Avanços e Desafios // Investigación Cualitativa en Educación: Avances y Desafíos","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126115627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data collection is carried out annually through a Census which generates a database with numerous statistical information. The purpose is to provide opportunities for the planning of future actions by the bodies responsible for implementing the National Social Assistance Policy based on the reality of the territories served. At the state level, the responsible sector is the Department of Social Assistance of Rio Grande do Sul. However, this database does not present an analysis, making it difficult for managers to interpret the information collected. As a result, the investigative question arises: how is it possible to contribute to the analysis of some information from the Census, which may subsidize the future actions of the State Department of Social Assistance? We carried out an investigative section in order to analyze the management of SUAS, the technical team and the financial resources allocated to the Social Assistance Policy. This is a study based on the deductive method, whose corpus was constituted by the Census of the Unified Social Assistance System of 2016 and 2017. The data were analyzed using the thematic analysis technique. The results show the importance of training workers who complete the SUAS Census, in relation to resources that may or may not meet state demands. The outline pointed out in this analysis allows to evidence for the future years, the urgent need to restructure both the staff of professionals in this area and the dimensioning of the need for human resources operating in a total of 497 municipalities, currently representing the state of RS as well as an orientation systematic way to fill in the forms that will generate the data of the state reality.","PeriodicalId":193094,"journal":{"name":"Investigação Qualitativa em Educação: Avanços e Desafios // Investigación Cualitativa en Educación: Avances y Desafíos","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114202326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
