The onset photo-oxidative stress identification and rescue in skin cell damage requires high sensitive and sophisticated techniques for real-time continuous measurement system. Therefore, the current study investigated the effects of Lglutathione on light-induced human dermal fibroblasts, neonatal (HDFn) cells, and addressed the mechanism of action of L-glutathione on early stage photo-oxidative stress and damage in skin cells using a simple light setup on realtime bio-impedance in-vitro analytical platform. During the initial light exposure, we observed that the HDFn cells elevated ROS and followed by other noxious factors can be released, which can leads to cell damage and demise. The Lglutathione treated cells shows some up-regulations activities as compared to the untreated cells and chemically stress -induced oxidative cells. Our results revealed that the L-glutathione treatment could gives better action to prevent the damage, which induced by light radiation induced oxidative cells. In summary, the system provides highthroughput drug screening for photo-oxidative damage during early stages of drug discovery. This is an effective model to study light-induced oxidative stress, morphological changes, and photo-damage, and would be of wide interest in the field of cosmetics and therapeutics.","PeriodicalId":18213,"journal":{"name":"Materials, methods & technologies","volume":"106 1","pages":"659-666"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73263861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
