First it was a family home, then a middle school and finally a university. In every period, at every level of education, Ingarden had his masters who were role models in life and work, and whom he could imitate in the dimensions of personal life, as well as his professional and scientific work. The goal of the article is to introduce Ingarden’s profile of a man of work ethics, an outstanding scientist, but also an excellent teacher. The first part of the article concerns Ingarden as a school and middle school teacher, and thus covers the interwar period.
