PEWS programs can be used for the description of both simple and composite web services. Simple web services can be built from scratch, by the combination of operations defined in a WSDL description file. Composite web services are constructed from the combination of existing web services, accessed by using their WSDL descriptions. PEWS operators help to define the order in which web services and operations will be performed.\u0000 This paper presents a PEWS programs edition environment. This environment is in the form of a web interface that enables programmers to edit, test and run composition specifications. The front-end of the environment, i.e. the web interface, interacts with the back-end, a server-side application, for the specification analysis. Our platform offers the possibility of an automatic translation of a PEWS specification into a Java program skeleton, directly executable, to call the web service operations and perform them in the order defined by the PEWS specification. Thus, the use of this platform can help reducing the time for development of the compositions","PeriodicalId":175577,"journal":{"name":"WEWST '11","volume":"272 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121836870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some of these scenarios are high performance computing (grid computing), the Internet of services, and cloud computing. Usage accounting is a topic currently covered prevalent for computing services and networking resources, but a generic approach comprising arbitrary services does not exist. Such an approach to usage accounting can provide a benefit for the platform provider by taking into account all kinds of services and applications. It is not only possible to create a financially-independent service platform, but also to take advantage of applications like cost allocation and trend analysis of service utilization. The main contributions of the solution for usage accounting proposed here are: a generic usage record format able to support accounting information of any kind of service in a future-proof manner as well as a scalable accounting infrastructure easily adaptable to the specific requirements of the application domain.","PeriodicalId":175577,"journal":{"name":"WEWST '11","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120956047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

PIS evolve in a space of services including physical ones embedded on the physical world, and logical ones representing traditional IS. However, this system should be modeled in such a way that enhances the transparency and efficiency of the system. Thus, we believe that a user-centric vision taking into account user's intention is needed to ensure an evolution with transparency in a frequently changing space. The objective of this paper is to propose a semantic modeling of an intentional PIS based on a semantic service description that considers both intention corresponding to the service and context in which it is supposed to be valid and executed.","PeriodicalId":175577,"journal":{"name":"WEWST '11","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122944484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Web service (WS) compositions require the capability to dynamically adapt to changes that may occur at runtime, including changes in the environment and in the component services themselves. Service composers must be able to respond swiftly to changed trustworthiness (TW) requirements and capabilities of service compositions, where those changes may not be easily predictable. With the availability of alternative services providing the same functionality as those already integrated in a service composition, service composers can take advantage of this by dynamically replacing degrading or unsatisfactory components. This paper provides techniques and an approach to dynamically detect and replace component services based on their trustworthiness.","PeriodicalId":175577,"journal":{"name":"WEWST '11","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126288574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This framework consists of a suite of XML based languages aiming to describe and interconnect home resources in order to obtain a smart home appliance of heterogeneous integrated devices. The DomoML framework is integrating and managing different devices, by abstracting them as homogeneous resources. It is based on the use of semantic web technologies, on one hand, which provide interoperability and allow the automated processing and reasoning; and, on the other hand, on the use of RESTful webservices as a mechanism of integration and communication between heterogeneous physical devices. This platform is going to be applied in elderly people's home to enhance quality of life regarding independence of daily living and safety. The application of the framework to this domain aims to provide innovative solutions and ICT services to answer the social and health-care needs of elderly people at sustainable costs.","PeriodicalId":175577,"journal":{"name":"WEWST '11","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124214502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
