Bai-da, Zhang Bin","doi":"10.7498/aps.48.1446","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.7498/aps.48.1446","url":null,"abstract":"The propagation characteristics of the MultiGaussian beams (MGB) and SuperGaussian beams (SGB) have been studied and compared with each other, based on the Wigner distribution function and irradiance moments method. The characteristic parameters of MultiGaussian beams (MGB), such as the M2 factor and beam width, are derived analytically. Numerical examples have been given.
