Ibrahim","doi":"10.30881/npcij.00010","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30881/npcij.00010","url":null,"abstract":"Over time, heart failure (HF) turns into a typical cardiovascular condition whose occurrence and predominance are increasing. Being a typical cause for urgent hospital admission, it is a noteworthy cause for morbidity and mortality for patients with CHF. In Egypt around 1.5 million individuals have CHF. A multidisciplinary approach appears the most ideal approach to manage patients with HF since it has been appeared to enhance clinical outcome and particularly to diminish the rate of readmission related to acute or chronic decompensation. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of implementing a clinical pathway for patients with Congestive Heart Failure on their health status outcomes. A quasi-experimental research design was utilized in this study on a convenient sample of 68 patients with CHF divided to equal group (34 patients each). The study was conducted, in the cardiology department and outpatient clinic of cardiology at Sohag Cardiac and Hepatic institution. Three tools were used for data collection: Congestive Heart Failure Patient Assessment, Clinical Pathway Protocol, and a Congestive Heart Failure Patient Variance Sheet. The results of the study showed good improvement in complaints of the study group. Improving care and practice can provide a favorable effect on the incidence of the complications CHF patients are exposed to. The recommendation based on the results of this study is to apply a clinical pathway for patients with CHF, rather than the traditional care with the aid of established guidelines of care and illustrated patient education handout. In addition, providing comprehensive education and training for nurses who care for CHF patients lays the foundation for quality care.","PeriodicalId":159713,"journal":{"name":"Nursing and Palliative care International Journal","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129842986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Estacio","doi":"10.30881/NPCIJ.00008","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30881/NPCIJ.00008","url":null,"abstract":"Rationale of the Study: The concept of primary health care has ignited efforts of health leaders to improve the health status of people worldwide. This impelled attempts to reduce inequities through policy changes and interagency collaborative participations. With nurses at the center of the healthcare delivery, they could contribute much to potentiate attainment of equity in health. However, little is known regarding the realization of the concept of health equity from the leaders in healthcare down to the healthcare workers. Research objectives/Problem statement: This concept analysis provides a thorough review of the concept of health equity in nursing and relatedness to healthcare and health practices. Methods: A concept analysis method described by Walker and Avant1 was used to clarify the meaning of health equity in Nursing. The concept’s attributes were determined through extensive literature search. Model, borderline, and contrary cases were constructed. Analysis was further done by identifying the antecedents, consequences, and empirical referents of health equity. Results and Conclusions: Health Equity is attributed to adequate and appropriate distribution of health services which is closely linked to an opportunity to gain access to health services that is not affected by socioeconomic status or other factors. Establishment of relevant policies and effective promoting actions of health and non-health agencies are indispensable to realize health equity. Generally, it is believed that if there is health equity, there will be improvement of the heath status of people. It will yield greatest contributions to maintaining and preserving the rights of people in terms of their health and their right to be not deprived of services from vast network of health systems. Presence of which prevents disadvantaged groups to have greater disadvantage. The concept continues to be a major concern particularly in developing countries where socially disadvantaged population groups are at its highest. Implementation of universal healthcare may continue to be a challenge among health and non-health related organizations. Clearly, more intensive efforts are needed at various levels of policy development and implementation.","PeriodicalId":159713,"journal":{"name":"Nursing and Palliative care International Journal","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115994274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
