Proponents of such a ban too optimistically assume that murderers would not simply find another instrument to commit the crime. Among other things, one must consider costs associated with jailing thousands of otherwise law-abiding people who choose to continue to possess handguns and enforcing a restrictive national permit requirement with what would require massive police power.","PeriodicalId":157636,"journal":{"name":"CJRN: Guns & Gun Laws (Topic)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116569566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
