The primary photon beam was monochromatized undulator radiation supplied from the UVSOR facility. The following emission-band systems have been identified: OCS+[A2ΠΩ(0,0,0) → X2ΠΩ(0,0,v3′′)], CO+(A2ΠΩ → X2Σ+), CS+(B2Σ+ → A2ΠΩ), and CO(d3Δ → a3Π). All of the transitions, except for OCS+[A2ΠΩ → X2ΠΩ], were first observed in the vacuum UV photodissociation of OCS. The fluorescence excitation spectra for the OCS+[A2ΠΩ(0,0,0) → X2ΠΩ(0,0,v3′′)] and CS+(B2Σ+ → A2ΠΩ) transitions were measured in the photon energy range of 15.1–15.75 and 21.8–26 eV, respectively. The emission spectra obtained at 20.85 and 22.9 eV exhibit atomic transitions of S[nd3Do → 4p3Pe (n = 6–9)], which result from the neutral dissociation of superexcited Rydberg states of OCS into S(nd3Do) + CO. Possible excited states of the counterpart CO are discussed on the basis of the difference in the n distribution between the two sp...","PeriodicalId":150706,"journal":{"name":"Atomic collision research in Japan","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130861146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From these results, we see that highly excited states such as (4lnl′) states can be produced by the double-electron transfer collisions between He2+ and alkaline-earth atoms. Relative population of such states increased as the target atomic number increased. The mechanism of the two electron transfer processes is discussed by using potential curves.","PeriodicalId":150706,"journal":{"name":"Atomic collision research in Japan","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116096817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By optimizing the cluster generation condition so that the fraction of Cn− anions with a linear form increases, the energy difference between the ground and the first excited states of the carbon linear chains up to C15− was systematically examined. As a result, it was found that the photoelectron second bands are attributed to the first excited triplet states of neutral carbon linear chains. The monotonous decrease of the excitation energy found for C7–15 clearly indicates that these linear chains possess a common electronic property for the lowest triplet states. Furthermore, by analyzing the decrease of the excitation energy in the triplet manifold, it was found that the gap tends to converge to almost zero by increasing a length of carbon chain.","PeriodicalId":150706,"journal":{"name":"Atomic collision research in Japan","volume":"279 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1998-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114096496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
