The community uses the Mempawah River as the main medium for agricultural needs, plantations, and the rearing of fish for consumption. Awareness of health that comes from water with its various uses, there has been consumer anxiety when consuming air along with agricultural and fishery products that are relevant to water use in the Mempawah watershed. This phenomenon occurs because the water resources of this watershed area have been polluted by mercury as a result of unlicensed gold mining activities in its spatial extent. This research was conducted to analyze the level of mercury pollution in the river basin, due to illegal gold mining activities. The method applied was purposive sampling, through 29 water sample points located in the upstream, middle and downstream. The sample results were explained using the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) tool. Then, from a spatial perspective, the location of PETI activities was analyzed spatially using Spatial Dynamic Modeling Geographical Information System software with kriging interpolation techniques, to predict the distribution of mercury pollution. The results of the research show that in the middle part of the Mempawah watershed, there is mercury pollution from 0.0023mg/lt to 0.0083 mg/l and has exceeded the threshold determined by PP No. 22 of 2021. The upstream and downstream parts of the Mempawah watershed are not polluted by mercury, because the PETI activity point is only in the middle part of the Mempawah watershed. These findings provide suggestions that the allocation of Mempawah River water as the sole raw material for corporate entities and its use for growing fish communities should be more closely monitored, to avoid danger, due to the chain of heavy metal contamination in the form of Mercury.","PeriodicalId":150611,"journal":{"name":"International journal of chemical & material sciences","volume":"18 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140732557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main goal was to produce nanometer-sized RE/Ca-(Fe3O4) ferrite utilizing sand as the primary raw material. This research also sought to generate public interest in natural resources to maximize their benefits. Sand is abundantly available in Indonesia and is commonly used in the production of concrete, bricks, and roads. To obtain nanometer-scale particles, the co-precipitation method was employed in this study. Initially, iron sand was dissolved in HCl, stirred until homogeneous, filtered and NH4OH was added. The mixture was then precipitated, filtered and washed through a repetitive process until the nano-ferrite particles were obtained. To enhance the magnetic properties, rare earth elements (RE) were introduced during the ferrite formation. The results of FTIR characterization revealed absorbance at 1000, 1400, 1600 and 3400 cm-1, indicating vibrations caused by stretching vibrations of the metal-oxygen tetrahedral band, stretching and HOH vibrations of anti-symmetrical NO stretching vibrations arising from the nitrate group still present in the sample. XRD characterization demonstrated a spectrum predominantly composed of RE/Ca-(Fe3O4) with a purity exceeding 90%, along with the detection of SiO2 impurities. Substitution of Gd, GdNd, and Nd results in an increase in lattice constant values for the a, and b-axis, however, decrease for c-axis sequentially. Also, the substitution of Gd, GdNd, and Nd results in an increase in the coercivity and remanence magnetization values sequentially. The average particle size obtained was 150 nm.","PeriodicalId":150611,"journal":{"name":"International journal of chemical & material sciences","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132811998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We obtained the data from publications from 2010 to 2022. Then we examined the phenomenological approach, which involved an in-depth evaluation data coding system and high interpretation in obtaining data with high validity to answer the problems and hypotheses. After a series of studies and discussion of the results, we can conclude that investigations of marine resources using technological applications have resulted in several applications, including the track fish application, the Nusantara sea application, the intelligent fishermen application, Nusantara fishermen, Wakatobi Ais, and then I long books application. This is useful for the development of similar studies in the future.","PeriodicalId":150611,"journal":{"name":"International journal of chemical & material sciences","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123735493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was conducted using the wet mechanical milling method. The research materials used were Fe2O3, BaCO3, La2O3, and CeO2, all of which were of high purity 99.9%. This research also uses technical materials such as Ethanol and Nitrogen. Stoichiometric calculations were carried out to calculate the composition of the mixture of each ingredient. The combination of Lanthanum and Cerium substitution was varied with the composition of the doping ion concentration (x = 0 – 0.5 and y = 0 – 0.1). Permagraph characterization was carried out to determine the magnetic properties of each test sample. Results based on the permagraph characterization, the properties of M-type hexaferrite permanent magnets increased with the increase in the doping ion concentration in the sample. The presence of doping ions that have a magnetic moment is strongly suspected to contribute to the interaction of the type and the total moment in the M- type hexaferrite structure.","PeriodicalId":150611,"journal":{"name":"International journal of chemical & material sciences","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131343104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is necessary to find alternative feeds that are cheap and able to support fish growth. Durian seeds (Durio Zibethinus) and Kelakai leaves (Stenochlaena palustris) are potential plant materials for additional fish feed which are abundant in Central Kalimantan Province. This study aims to determine whether additional feed formulations made from durian seed meal andelakai leaf meal can provide significant growth in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) rearing. The study used an experimental approach with a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The feed formulation is a mixture of pellets with 95% durian seed meal and 5% melakai leaf meal. Additional feeding is based on the following treatment: Treatment A, given commercial feed made by the factory brand MS prima Feed 1000 as much as 5% of the total weight of the fish kept, Treatment B: given formulated feed (90% pellets + 10% durian seed flour and kelakai leaf flour) as much as 5% of the total weight per day, Treatment C: given formulated feed (95% pellets + 5% mixture of durian seed flour and kelakai leaf flour) as much as 5% of the total fish weight per day. The results showed that the feeding of pellet formulations with durian seed flour and kelakai leaf flour as much as 10 % of body weight per day resulted in the highest growth in length and weight of fish.  Thus durian seed flour and Kelakai leaf flour can be used as additional feed for Nile tilapia to help increase fish growth and reduce fish feed costs.","PeriodicalId":150611,"journal":{"name":"International journal of chemical & material sciences","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132762920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The material used was male Bali beef in the Longisimus Dorsi (LD) muscle which was cut at three different abattoirs. The RPH are UPT RPH Mambal, UPT RPH Pesanggaran and RPH belonging to the community of RPH Darmasaba in Banjar Bersih Darmasaba Village. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments where three abattoirs were treated and each treatment consisted of 10 repetitions of Bali beef cuts. The variables sought in this study were physical quality variables, namely pH, color, water holding capacity, and meat cooking loss. Chemical quality variables are meat moisture content, protein content, fat content and ash content. Meat microbiological variables were TPC, colliform, e-coli and salmonella. The results showed that the physical quality of Bali beef slaughtered at the Darmasaba RPH had the lowest physical quality compared to the Mambal and Pesanggaran abattoirs, especially on the pH and meat color variables. The chemical quality of Bali beef slaughtered at the three abattoirs had no significant difference in water content, protein content, and ash content. The total plate count, coliform was below the SNI threshold while e-coli was not identified and salmonella was negative.","PeriodicalId":150611,"journal":{"name":"International journal of chemical & material sciences","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134228575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each process of refining one tonne of nickel products produces 50 times solid waste, equivalent to 50 tons of this problem which causes the waste stockpile to increase. The analysis of the iron content in the nickel slag leaching process as a raw material for the manufacture of ferrous sulfate is quite interesting because nickel slag chemically still contains valuable minerals and metals, and the iron content in nickel slag is the most dominant. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of dissolving iron content in nickel slag from the leaching process which will later be used as a concentration for the manufacture of ferrous sulfate. This research is an experimental study to determine the dissolved Fe content that will be used to make ferrous sulfate coagulant products with concentrations of 0.2; 0.3; 0; 5 and 1 mol/L.","PeriodicalId":150611,"journal":{"name":"International journal of chemical & material sciences","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128583032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
