The solid phase extraction of TcO4− using trimethylsilyl-protected triphenylphosphinimine coated silica gel demonstrated the selectivity of the triphenylphosphiniminium cation for TcO4− over a variety of inorganic (NO3−, Cl−, H2PO4−, HSO4−/SO42−) and organic (fumarate) anions in aqueous solution (>98% extracted when at pM TcO4−vs. 0.15 M anion). Iodide, lactate, benzoate and acetate were able to compete with pertechnetate (only 11–83% extracted) when present in large excess (0.15 M anion vs. 10−12 M 99mTcO4−), but not when the anion was present in a 10-fold excess. The triphenylphosphiniminium cation was significantly selective for TcO4− over ReO4−, a commonly used non-radioactive analog for 99Tc, when tracer amounts of both competed with the anions iodide, lactate, benzoate and acetate.","PeriodicalId":125676,"journal":{"name":"rca - Radiochimica Acta","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117040215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The macrocyclic bifunctional chelating agent, N-succinimidyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid (DOTA-NHS) was prepared at 25 °C using DOTA, N-hydroxy succinimide (NHS) in CH2Cl2. DOTA-Rituximab was obtained by the addition of 1 mL of a Rituximab pharmaceutical solution (5 mg/mL, in phosphate buffer, pH=7.8) to a glass tube pre-coated with DOTA-NHS (0.01–0.1 mg) at 25 °C with continuous mild stirring for 15 h. Radiolabeling was performed at 37 °C in 3 h. Radio-thin layer chromatography showed an overall radiochemical purity of 90%–95% at optimized conditions (specific activity = 30 GBq/mg, labeling efficacy; 82%). The final isotonic 67Ga-DOTA-rituximab complex was checked by gel electrophoresis for radiolysis. Radio-TLC was performed to ensure that only one species was present after filtration through a 0.22 μm filter. Preliminary biodistribution studies in normal rat model performed to determine complex distribution of the radioimmunoconjugate up to 28 h.","PeriodicalId":125676,"journal":{"name":"rca - Radiochimica Acta","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115317350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results indicated that sorption of Th(IV) on attapulgite was strongly affected by pH values. The presence of humic acid and fulvic acid enhanced the sorption of Th(IV) at low pH values and no significant influence was observed at high pH values. Sorption of Th(IV) was mainly dominated by surface complexation. Sorption of Th(IV) increased with increasing temperature of the system. Enthalpy (ΔH0), entropy (ΔS0) and Gibbs free energy (ΔG0) were calculated from the temperature dependent sorption data, and the results indicated that the sorption of Th(IV) on attapulgite was a spontaneous process. The results of sorption and desorption of Th(IV) on HS bound attapulgite indicated that the sorption of Th(IV) on HS-attapulgite hybrids was reversible.","PeriodicalId":125676,"journal":{"name":"rca - Radiochimica Acta","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124509300","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Citric acid is a fundamental biological constituent found at relatively high concentrations in blood plasma and is involved in many biological processes. Spectrophotometry was the primary method used to determine the speciation of An(IV)-citrate systems (Th, U, Np, Pu). Complexation phenomena were identified, especially the formation of complexes with 1:1 and 1:2 stoichiometries. The corresponding conditional constants were calculated according to the experimental conditions. Depending on the acid-base form of the ligand (H2Cit−, HCit2− or Cit3−) the apparent stability constants were also calculated and compared for various tetravalent actinides.","PeriodicalId":125676,"journal":{"name":"rca - Radiochimica Acta","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132127348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The retained redox data corresponding to the 3+/2+ couples are given, and earlier reports of the existence of monovalent mendelevium is not confirmed. By comparing divalent, trivalent and tetravalent ions, the effective charges of the lanthanide and actinide ions have been quantified. It is shown, based on experimental EXAFS data, and modelling of the aquo ions, that the covalent effect in these series increases with the oxidation state, is larger for actinides than for lanthanides and maximum for trivalent and tetravalent ions at the beginning of the series and, in each case, becoming negligible around the middle of the series. For divalent ions this covalent effect is small and constant through the series. Characteristics of the ions have been evaluated and hydration properties deduced.","PeriodicalId":125676,"journal":{"name":"rca - Radiochimica Acta","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131831096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
