Employees play a crucial role in the successful delivery of service and maintaining customer relationships in service oriented organizations. Satisfied employees in general perform better in service delivery as compared to unsatisfied employees. Employee satisfaction, in turn, results from total quality management initiatives such as top management support, employee training, employee participation, employee rewards, and team work that enable employees to provide better customer service. While the relationship of TQM practices and employee satisfaction has been tested in other service sectors, it has not been explored in the education sector. The objective of this paper is to investigate how TQM practices have an impact on employee satisfaction and employee performance within the context of technical institutions in India.\u0000\u0000Methodology/Technique - The data is collected from 250 teaching faculties of technical institutions in the southern states of India.\u0000\u0000Findings - The results of the study confirm that TQM practices are significantly positive predictors of employee satisfaction, which in turn contributes to better employee performance within the educational sector in India.\u0000\u0000Novelty - This study contributes to the development of literature by empirically testing the link between TQM practices and employee satisfaction and employee performance within the context of the education sector.\u0000\u0000Type of Paper: Empirical.\u0000\u0000Keywords: Total Quality Management; Employee Satisfaction; Employee Performance; Technical Institutions.\u0000\u0000JEL Classification: A20. With this information, the firms were then tested against performance. A sample of 354 new manufacturing industries in year 2017 of Thailand was chosen and data was collected through mailed questionnaires. Only 340 (96.05%) respondents contributed to the database of this report. The result of ordinary least squares regression revealed that the cost management quality was positively related to the internal control effectiveness and decision-making reliability. In addition, internal control effectiveness and decision-making reliability also had positive effects on firm performance. This implied that without accounting information system quality, a firm had a greater chance of failure. Contributions and suggestions for future research are presented.

Moreover, the paper makes an overview of all advantages of implementing the well planning system for achieving best companies’ results. Planning is a process of setting companies’ goals, making assumptions about the business environment in which those goals should be archived and making a choice about the actions, means and ways in order to achieve the goals. Actually, planning is a system activity that determines when, how and who will perform a separate work activity. In fact, planning is a process that managers apply to identify and choose appropriate goals and directions for action for the organization. On the other hand, the plan is a list of steps and procedures for using time and resources to achieve the specified goals. The fact that planning system has significant advantages for organizations indicate that each business organization should include planning at all levels of management, with the aim of making a quality strategy. Accordingly, there is: operational planning, tactical planning, strategic planning and contingent (multivariate) planning. It’s no matter what king of planning the company is trying to implement, it’s not an easy job. Hence, the effectiveness in making a good planning system as a step towards creating the best corporate strategy is essential for achieving the best business results. In fact, the planning system minimizes uncertainty, facilitates coordination, improves moral principles, increases effectiveness and efficiency, facilitates control.

This paper demonstrates that unobserved quality may also be signaled by a reputational asset common to many firms – country of origin. Analyzing stock market reactions to all published automotive recalls in the U.S. from 1966-2011, I find evidence that consumers learn about product quality both through historic experience with firms and country of origin. I estimate that firms whose products are recalled initially experience abnormal returns of −0.6%, and that these abnormal returns diminish with each subsequent recall. Further, I find significant intra-country spillovers of −0.15% during recall announcements. These results have implications for firms’ willingness to invest in quality and may lend insight into the perceived country-specific quality observed in the automotive industry.

Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) was established in 1987 to encourage organizations to deploy quality as a competitive strategy. The research review identifies that the MBNQA has taken a paradigm shift from quality to organizational excellence. This paper focuses on the changing role of quality in the MBNQA criteria from 1988 to 2009 in approximately 5-year intervals that is 1988, 1992, 1997, 2003 and 2009. In the recent years there is an increasing emphasis on corporate culture and globalization and therefore it is necessary for healthcare organizations to improve their organizational effectiveness, especially in the area of service quality. The concept of service quality in healthcare organizations is critically discussed in the context of changing environmental factors. An attempt is made in this paper to identify the scope of service quality research and it emphasizes the need for a holistic framework for measuring performance in healthcare organizations. This issue is significant because of concurrent view amongst various researchers in service management that there are both hard and soft issues reflecting, the lack of strategic thinking and goal clarity, necessitating a measurement system that focuses on application of a comprehensive measurement system in service organizations especially in healthcare. The paper concludes by highlighting the dearth in services marketing research regarding focus on service quality and performance through an integrated perspective.

Although ISO accreditation may reflect an organisation's pursuit of a quality-focused business strategy and a commitment to quality management practices, ISO accreditation may merely be a response to external (customers') demands for quality certification. This study investigates whether ISO accredited companies differ from non-ISO accredited companies in business strategy and in their implementation of quality management practices. It also investigates differences between ISO accredited and non-ISO accredited companies in their reporting of quality in physical and financial terms and traditional performance measures. Based on a mail questionnaire sent to a sample of ISO and non-ISO accredited New Zealand manufacturing companies, the results showed a significant difference in the business strategy pursued by the two groups, with ISO accredited companies regarding quality as more important than cost efficiencies. However, there were no significant differences in the quality management practices of ISO accredited and non-ISO accredited companies, except in the areas of process improvement and quality measurement. There was also little evidence of differences in performance reporting systems between ISO accredited and non-ISO accredited companies.
