Studi ini mencoba memperoleh relasi aproksimasi antara diameter kawah tumbukan di Bumi terhadap ukuran objek yang diperlukan untuk membentuk kawah tersebut. Studi dilakukan menggunakan simulasi numerik terhadap ribuan sampel asteroid dekat-Bumi  nyata dalam orbit yang telah dikenal dengan baik. Menggunakan asumsi bahwa jumlah kawah yang dibentuk di permukaan Bumi sama dengan banyaknya asteroid dekat-Bumi yang menumbuk dalam kurun waktu tertentu, diperoleh bahwa diperlukan asteroid dengan diameter yang lebih kecil untuk menghasilkan kawah-kawah besar yang dikenal dibandingkan prediksi yang ada sebelumnya. As a part of the development of related decision support system, this study focuses on developing a basic lifetime model of artificial space object based on a well-known theory and prediction scheme in the field of satellite reentry research. Current implemented model has not accounted atmospheric oblateness or other correcting factors, but it has a reasonably good performance in predicting reentry time of several objects with various initial eccentricities. Among 30 predictions conducted to 10 objects that reentered the atmosphere from 1970 to 2012, there are 13 calculations that yield prediction time with accuracy of < 30% relative to the actual reentry time. In addition, 11 calculations yields prediction time which were more accurate compared to the outputs from SatEvo software that is currently used in the decision support system on the falling debris operated by Space Science Center LAPAN. Manik","doi":"10.30536/j.jsd.2018.v15.a2896","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30536/j.jsd.2018.v15.a2896","url":null,"abstract":"The experiment of ionospheric tomographic reconstruction using satellite beacon TEC data from two or more adjacent GRBR observation stations following equatorial latitude and longitude have been conducted on campaign-based  observation in Sumedang, Pameungpeuk and Indramayu West Java on 2016 and 2017. The reconstruction technique utilized is a simple algebraic reconstruction technique (ART). The result obtained is the ionosphere electron density distribution along the longitude of 108 degrees East over the area of West Java and Indonesia. The ionosphere electron density  parameters obtained from the IRI-2012 Model were used as the initiation to construct ionospheric tomographic reconstruction. Curah hujan Sulawesi mencakup ketiga pola hujan yang ada di Indonesia yaitu Monsunal, equatorial, dan lokal. Variabilitas ketiga pola curah hujan tersebut akan memberikan respon yang berbeda terhadap pengaruh dari kedua tipe El Niño tersebut. Maka, Kajian ini akan membahas pengaruh dari kedua tipe El Niño  terhadap curah hujan Sulawesi. Penelitian ini Menggunakan data curah hujan bulanan berasal dari Climate Prediction Center (CPC) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Suhu Permukaan Laut (SPL) bulanan dari System Ocean Data Assimilation (SODA) versi 2.2.4 dan oceanic Niño Indeks (ONI) dengan periode  Januari 1950 hingga Desember 2010 (60 tahun). Perhitungan statistik sederhana berupa perata-rataan, korelasi, dan analisa komposit digunakan dalam kajian ini. Penentuan tipe El Niño menggunakan tiga buah indeks yang berbeda. Hasilnya diperoleh bahwa Curah hujan Sulawesi berkurang saat kedua tipe El Niño. Penurunan curah hujan akibat EP El Niño berkisar antara 5 – 20 mm sedangkan akibat CP El Niño berkisar antara 2-12 mm. Peta hasil prediksi WRF perlu diverifikasi guna meningkatkan kualitas data. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan data WRF dengan rentang tahun 2001 hingga 2010. Untuk verifikasi digunakan data observasi radiasi matahari selama 12 bulan pada 2 lokasi yaitu desa Palihan (Provinsi Yogjakarta) dan desa Aikangkung (Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat). Metoda yang digunakan adalah penurunan skala (downscaling), prediksi, verifikasi dan koreksi. Hasil verifikasi memperlihatkan lokasi 1 (desa Palihan) memiliki deviasi yang lebih besar (Mape=22.59%) dibanding pada lokasi 2 (desa Aikangkung) dengan nilai Mape=12.95%. Perbedaan nilai antara model WRF dan data observasi dimanfaatkan untuk mengkoreksi peta potensi energi surya.
