Postural deformities can be a limiting factor in achieving maximal performances in basketball. Flat feet are one of the most common deformities and they can lead to discomfort and pain. In this research we made an attempt to link the degree of feet flatness with sports performances in elite Icelandic female basketball players. A sample of 15 basketball players was tested on a podoscope to establish the degree of feet flatness and all participants performed drop jump, countermovement jump, 20m sprint and agility t-test. No significant correlation was observed, which means that feet flatness was not a limiting factor. However, we state that only strong and healthy feet might lead to excellent performance.","PeriodicalId":116944,"journal":{"name":"Innovative Technologies in Sport and Physical Activity","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114303167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The autophagic threshold is defined as a „turning point“ at which eukaryotic cells begin to generate energy (to maintain their own structure and vital activity) by using (recycling) their internal components. Autophagic thresh-old divides the non-autophagic zone and autophagic zone reflecting the moving to autophagy. Entry into the non-autophagic zone starts when the fasting is interrupted (without fasting never, usually), while to enter the autophagic zone a longer absence of food intake is necessary. The organism in autophagy (by self-eating) sacrifices part of the system in order to restore and maintain the stability of the whole (homeostasis). By eating too often, man disrupts an evolutionarily conserved rhythm and inhibits natural balance leading to the: accumulation of biological waste, working capacity reduction and accelerated aging. Autophagy is therefore a desirable process for every organism, and determining its threshold would mean controlling that process and not wasting time (effectiveness without abstinence). However, the position of the Autophagic Threshold cannot be located in the time, but it can be stimulated, accelerated and intensified using by Fasting, regular physical exercise, ketogenic diet and healthy sleep patterns. Applying any of these methods will bring certain benefits, however, adequate application of all four methods (simultaneously) should be the most powerful way to achieve Autophagic Threshold and thus to achieve healthy longevity and well-being.","PeriodicalId":116944,"journal":{"name":"Innovative Technologies in Sport and Physical Activity","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124535779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When it comes to the Dinaric Alps, this approach has not been applied until now, nor are there any studies in which blood groups were analysed, that is, the relationship of individual blood groups with certain occupations and business successes was examined. Nevertheless, when you take into account the extreme successes of the inhabitants living in the area of the Dinaric Alps, in certain professions (collective sports, high politics, etc.), but also extreme failures in some others (general education, democracy, etc.), it is logical to make a connection between those phenomenon. In addition to the already established specific body composition of the mentioned population, the ABO system of blood groups can be a significant factor when it comes to exceptional results, especially in sports. The analysis of the distribution of blood groups in these areas and their relationship with individual occupations should provide adequate answers to centuries-old questions that significantly burden people from these areas and, among other things, significantly improve the selection process, first of all in sports, but also in other professions that may be under the aforementioned influence.","PeriodicalId":116944,"journal":{"name":"Innovative Technologies in Sport and Physical Activity","volume":"09 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133706000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
