To alleviate the life of differently abled people, we propose a project which uses hand gestures to operate devices in the surrounding. The need for human assistance is reduced which also reduces the financial burden on the patients. We have used the concept of computer vision to recognize hand gestures and perform the function of operating devices. Numbers of estimation technique has been developed to estimate the position of the motor but most of them depend on stator resistance, inductance, and other motor parameters. The variation of those parameters affects the total estimation process. Among all those estimation processes sliding mode observer (SMO) and luenberger observer (LO) shows the promising estimation efficiency and effect of the variation of the parameters also less. The sensorless observer uses stator voltages and currents as inputs and estimates the electromotive force (emf) from the motor model. Rotor position and speed are further estimated from the estimated emf. As part of this paper position and speed of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous machines are estimated by sliding mode observer (SMO) and luenberger observer (LO) for a wide variation of the speed range and the variation of the motor actual speed, torque, position, and variation of current are studied. Non-linear loads deteriorate the power quality inducing harmonics into the source currents and dynamic load nature causes threat to the power system and insists to meet power demand. This paper presents the power quality issue addressing along with feeding active power from renewable source to power distribution system using dual inverter configuration in distribution system. In the proposed parallel (dual) inverter configuration in distribution system, one inverter acts as DSTATCOM filter to suppress source current harmonics injecting compensating signals and the other as DG inverter which converts DC supply (from renewable source - DG) to AC type to feed active power to distribution system. DSTATCOM is controlled from triggering pulses generated from SRF (synchronous reference frame) control theory and the Distributed Generation Integrated converter is controlled with simple ‘Id-Iq’ based control. The SRF theory for DSTATCOM and DG inverter control strategies are explained. Multiplier plays a significant role in energy efficient signal processing applications in digital systems. Product of large bit numbers occurs efficiently through binary multiplication. A low power and high speed Gate Diffusion Input (GDI) based Braun multiplier with improved row and column bypassing scheme is presented in this paper. From the simulated results, it is observed that, the GDI based Braun multiplier achieves energy savings more than 4% and up to 99% with CMOS and other methods and in the same way EDP savings more than 15% and up to 30% with CMOS and other methods by means of column and row bypassing techniques. The method comprises of channel compensation and white balancing steps, and the output is given in parallel to the gamma correction and sharpening to adjust the contrast and remove high frequency irregularities. Using suitable fusion technique, the images are combined together, after which the quality metrics are evaluated. Measures are adopted to reduce the computational complexity of the method and to automate the execution. This gives user the flexibility to test the images and collect results with almost 50% less computation time. The method does not require any prior knowledge/training or channel model. The prototype has multiple rectangular patches arranged in such a way that it gives an appearance of U shape slot in between. The volume of following antenna is 30×38×0.8 cubic mm, and the size of ground is kept congruent to the dimensions of base of the substrate. This design produce the frequency bands of (4.434 – 4.570 GHz), (6.429 – 6.579 GHz), (7.846 – 8.024 GHz), (8.187 – 8.338 GHz) and (9.018 – 9.185 GHz). These bands lie under the C and X band applications provided by the organization of IEEE. The significance of presented antenna is that the following compact and simple design has wide range of applications like terrestrial communication, keyless entry system, space communication, radar, baby monitor. This antenna uses coplanar-waveguide (CPW) - feeding and produces broad impedance bandwidth (IBW) and broad dual-band axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW). The antenna structure is simple and compact with dimensions of 22×21×1.6 mm3. The antenna is designed in two stages and parametric analysis is used to analyze the antenna performance. Proper selection of the slots, slot dimensions, and slot positions, broad circularly polarized bands are achieved. The impedance band is from 4.75 GHz to 10.62 GHz with a bandwidth of 5.87 GHz. The dual-band circular polarization is ranged from 5.46 GHz to 6.24 GHz and 8.82 GHz to 10.48 GHz. This antenna can be used in both the C-band and the X-band. However, in multicore systems power consumption is always a concern. In most of the processor based systems dynamic voltage and frequency scaling is a common method adopted to save energy. In processing many heterogeneous tasks, it is appropriate to propose a combined energy efficient scheduling using DVFS. In this article, we introduce a task scheduling model along with DVFS method for high performance computing system. The proposed greedy scheduler assigns the tasks to the suitable processor core based on their energy profile and probability value of the incoming task. Furthermore, these advancements have enabled to efficiently extract facial features for psychological analysis, improvement of consumer experience, and research on human-computer interaction. Facial expressions play a vital role in human existence because they are a significant part of non-verbal communication. However, existing FER systems require large computational capacity, rendering them unusable for use in either small-scale systems or large-scale deployments. Presented work aims to find a solution to aforesaid problem by developing an FER system capable of running on affordable and modular devices specifically Raspberry pi. In presented work, the FER system is developed that identifies and extracts the face using OpenCV, then classifies the expressions using a ResNeXt inspired CNN architecture named EmotionNet. The classifier network was trained on the FERPlus dataset, and it achieved 70.22% micro-accuracy on the test set. An interactive GUI platform was designed using KivyMD to control the overall system. The classification of facial expression takes place into the following five categories: neutral, happy, sad, angry, and surprised. The detected emotion is used to generate a descriptive report consisting of qualitative material, in order to apprise the user of their state of emotion, and alter it in case of negative emotions.
