It is a floor rooted rigid system which has sensors embedded into it. When the individual performs activity of standing, walking, running or any other activities, it imprints the pressure areas and generates a report denoting the same. The important point is that the density of sensors per unit area of the device could have a say in determining the accuracy of the readings on the areas of interests.","PeriodicalId":284305,"journal":{"name":"VIMS JOURNAL OF PHYSICAL THERAPY","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127004113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, on examining the trigger points, highest prevalence was seen in upper trapezius which was 94.79% followed by neck extensors 72.97% and levator scapulae 63.54%. Positional release technique and Myofascial release technique both have been used individually on both active and latent trigger points and have shown their effects on pain, functional disability and movement restriction.  With considering the previous literature, aim of the study is to compare the effect of positional release technique and myofascial release technique on upper trapezius and levator scapulae latent trigger points in undergraduate students. METHODOLOGY: 40 subjects fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected and randomly allocated into two groups via chit method. All the subjects were assessed for pain using VAS, neck disability using Neck Disability Index and cervical range of motion using goniometer before initiating the treatment. Group A was given Positional release technique along with conventional exercises of cervical movements and shoulder girdle exercises. Group B was given Myofascial release technique along with same conventional exercises.  Data was collected and analysed. There was not a statistically significant difference when post scores of Group A and Group B were compared for pain, neck disability and cervical range of motion. On comparing the differences of scores of Group A and group B, statistically significant difference was seen only in cervical flexion range of motion (p<0.0016), cervical right rotation (p<0.0002) and left lateral flexion (p<0.0062) showing better results in Group A than Group B. \u0000KEYWORDS: Myofascial trigger points, Positional release technique, Myofascial release technique, Visual analog scale, Neck disability index","PeriodicalId":284305,"journal":{"name":"VIMS JOURNAL OF PHYSICAL THERAPY","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132319617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of these fractures arise as a result of fall from a height or due to fall on an outstretched hand (FOOSH). Undisplaced fractures are best managed by immobilizing the area using a cast or a splint. Displaced fractures are managed surgically by closed reduction and percutaneous pinning fixation. Loss of flexion, extension, or hyperextension, post immobilization tends to be the main functional issue. Physiotherapy aims to help patients regain their range of motion quickly and prevent late complications.CASE DESCRIPTION- Presenting a case of 12Y/O female with a supracondylar fracture of humerus who fell on the stage while playing on left side and was diagnosed with X-ray. She was managed surgically by closed reduction and percutaneous pinning with K- wires. Patient presented with the following complains post-operatively, i.e., pain at the incision site, swelling around the elbow joint and reduced movement at the elbow and shoulder joint. Patient underwent a 4weeks physical therapy rehabilitation program after the surgery and showed marked improvement in pain score, range of motion, muscle strength and functional activities.RESULT- The results demonstrated significant improvement in range of motion, muscle strength and pain reduction after post assessment was done. CONCLUSION- Immediate Physiotherapy Intervention program which includes manual therapy & therapeutic exercises for a postoperative case of supracondylar fracture in paediatrics can facilitate the activities of daily living and improved quality of life.","PeriodicalId":284305,"journal":{"name":"VIMS JOURNAL OF PHYSICAL THERAPY","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125041185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
