Exercise has been proven to reduce the number of cardiovascular diseases. However, it is also known that doing intense exercise has an adverse effect on heart health which can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. While doing exercise, there is compensation from the heart itself by producing substances to maintain the heart to remain functional, known as cardiac biomarkers, including ANP and SERCA2a. Thus far, the recommended intensity is moderate-intensity exercise, which is optimal for heart health, but this recommendation has not been supported by biomolecular study. Therefore, this research was conducted. This study was done using semi-quantitative analytic method and experimental study design. Total of 24 male wistar rats were divided randomly into 4 groups: 1 control group (0m/min) and 3 exercise groups (low-: 10m/min, moderate-: 20m/min, high- intensity exercise: 30m/min). All groups received 30 min/day running, 5x/week for 12 weeks. The rats were terminated under anaesthesia, cardiac muscle extraction was done from left ventricle, and gene expression of ANP and SERCA2a is studied. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS software with one-way ANOVA followed by post hoc comparisons if the p-values < 0.05. The expression of ANP increased but insignificant in low-, moderate-, and high-intensity exercise group of rat (0.872±0.034 vs 0.901±0.018 vs 0.916±0.015 vs 0.938±0.025; p=0.304). The expression of SERCA2a also increased insignificantly in low-, moderate-, and high-intensity exercise group of rat (1.044±0.019 vs 1.051±0.015 vs 1.063±0.011 vs 1.082±0.027; p=0.493). Athletes performance is affected by three factors; there are physical condition, technique, and mental condition of athlete. Athletes should have a perfect predominant physical component in order to achieve a gold medal. This study aims to know the physical condition of West Javas wrestling athletes in the National Sports Week XVIII. This study was a cross-sectional descriptive study using secondary data obtained from Sports Medicine Department of National Sports Committee of Indonesia in Bandung. The data consisted of various predominant physical components, which were muscle strength, endurance, power, and flexibility, as well as cardiorespiratory endurance. The data was compared to National Sports Committee of Indonesias standards and categorized into less, enough, good, very good, and perfect. Male athletes had several components which were categorized as less and enough; those are abdominal muscle endurance, arm and shoulder muscle endurance, and cardiorespiratory endurance; Whereas, female athletes were less and enough in abdominal muscle endurance, limb muscles strength, limb muscles power, and cardiorespiratory endurance. Several predominant physical components of wrestling athletes of West Java Province in National Sports Week XVIII had not met the requirement for good and perfect category and needed to be improved. The way to gather the data is using purposive sampling, the population that chosen by the researcher is 10 respondents’ college students of Ilmu Keolahragaan batch 2016. For data analysis, using SPSS 21 program for windows and Statistical calculation that used is One-Way ANOVA continues with Post Hoc Tukey. The average result from time reaction on Speed Anticipation Reaction is 1.263 (placebo), 1,257 (green tea), 1.271 (energy drink), and 1.358 (black coffee). For Body Reaction Time Test (visual) shows the average around 1.239 (placebo), 0.245 (green tea), 0.257 (green tea), and 0.244 (black coffee). While on Whole Body Reaction Time Test (auditory) shows the average0.239 (placebo), 0.239 (green tea), 0.274 (energy drink), and 0.263 (black coffee). The signification value from three-time reaction test are (Speed Anticipation Reaction Sig. 0.706 > 0.05, Whole Body Reaction (visual) Sig. 0.877 > 0.05, and Whole Body Reaction (auditory) Sig. 0.348 > 0.05) all of the result above 0.05. Those athletes only earned 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal. One of several factors influencing these athlete’s achievement is physical condition of the athlete. Underwhelming achievements may be caused by discrepancy of athlete’s physical condition with Central KONI standards. This study aimed to describe predominant physical components of West Java table tennis athletes in PON XVIII/2012 Riau according to Central KONI standard. The study was conducted using descriptive study design and cross sectional approach using secondary data that has been measured by Sport Medicine field of KONI West Java. Secondary data consists of predominant physical components in table tennis athletes, which are strength, muscle endurance, power, flexibility, reaction speed, and heart lung strength, that will be compared to Central KONI standard. Based on Central KONI standard, there were predominant physical component of West Java table tennis athletes in PON XVIII/2012 Riau still on deficient and adequate level, which were arm and shoulder muscle strength, leg muscle strength, abdominal muscle endurance, arm muscle power, and heart lung endurance in male athletes; and arm and shoulder strength, abdominal muscle endurance, leg muscle strength, and heart lung endurance in female athletes. There were still predominant physical components of West Java table tennis athletes that have not achieved good, very good or perfect category according to Central KONI standard. Hence, efforts to coach athletes through scalable and well programmed training are needed. Participants are divided into 2 groups: the experimental group, which has been given the treatment of Moringa leaves and aerobic exercise, and the control group, which has been given an aerobic treatment only. The method used is experimental method with randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design. This research took 6 weeks length with aerobic exercise 4 days a week. Moringa leaves consumed at a dose of 2000mg during treatment. The data collection used a Balke Test to measure the VO2max and modified Conconi Test to measure the lactate threshold. The results of this research showed a significant increase in mean before and after treatment in both variables from each group (p <0.05). However, the value of the increase in both variables between the two groups did not show significant difference (p> 0.05). Savings glycogen in muscular is one of the factors that is affecting muscular endurance when physical exercise. The aim of this study is to find out the significant influence of consuming palm sugar to muscular endurance before physical exercise. The method that is used in this study is to experiment with design pretest-posttest control group design. Total of sample of this study is 18 trained mans that is divided into three groups. The first experiment group is given palm sugar that is dissolved in water, the second experiment group is given sugar that is dissolved in water, and the control group is given mineral water. The instrument of this study is used push up test, sit up test, and squat jump test to measures the upper muscular endurance, middle, and bottom. All of the samples have done pretest and posttest in different day. When posttest, all of the sample is consumed beverage based on the treatment 30 minutes before do the posttest. Data analysis by Paired Sample t-test and continued by One Way ANOVA to see the influence and comparison between groups. The result of this study has showed that there is a significant difference, the raising of muscular endurance is proved by the score (sig) 0.00>0.05, which the highest increasing is the palm sugar group. Therefore, the obesity problem needs serious attention and treatment approaches. Exercise is one of the treatment approach to combat obesity because exercise plays a role in beiging/browning process. Beiging is a differentiation process from white adipocyte to beige adipocyte, which has similar characteristics to brown adipocyte and is marked with an increase of UCP-1 expression. Irisin plays a role in increasing UCP-1 expression by activating p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and extracellular-signal regulated kinase (ERK) signaling. Muscle contraction during exercise can activate PGC-1α, which leads to the synthesis of irisin. One of the alteration in an athlete that can be made is the cardiovascular system change. This study aimed to discover the difference of heart rate and blood pressure between aerobic predominant athlete and anaerobic predominant athlete. The study design was case-control, data collected from 80 athletes divided into 40 aerobic predominant athletes (canoe, sail, gantole, shooting, and bicycle racing) and 40 anaerobic predominant athletes (weight lifting, taekwondo, softball, tarung derajat, and rock climbing) in KONI West Java, Bandung. Sample was collected by random sampling and analyzed by T test independent. The result showed there was significant difference of heart rate between aerobic predominant athlete and anaerobic predominant athlete (p=0,0001), and lower in aerobic. There was also no significant difference of systolic blood pressure between predominant aerobic athlete and predominant anaerobic athlete (p=0,404), and was higher in anaerobic. Another result showed no significant difference of diastolic blood pressure between predominant aerobic athlete and predominant anaerobic athlete (p=0,553) and was higher in anaerobic. This condition contributes to increase number of metabolic disease cases such as: hypertension, heart disease, stroke and diabetes mellitus. Optimizing training approach especially aerobic type helps to counter metabolic diseases. Unfortunately, benefits of resistance training (RT) is less understood. RT improves muscle strength, induce muscle hypertrophy, improvement of local muscular performance, and also help to strenghtening body balance and coordination. There is interplay between training and hormone in muscle adaptation during resistance training. Hormone plays an important role in the regeneration of muscle after resistance training. The changes of hormone level cause hypertrophy. Regeneration and muscle hypertrophy are mediated by activation, proliferation and differentiation of satellite cells. It is regulated by mitotic and myogenic activity, namely insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), which serves as a paracrine or autocrine. This is quasy experimental research and use a pretest and posttest control group desain. The subject of this research are 18 basketball athletes from UPI's basketball student activity unit with ages 19-21 years old and divided randomly into 3 groups which is 2 treatment groups and control group. The subject givenintervention coconut water, 250 ml of isotonic drink and placebo, it given 30 minutes before the test. The hydration status on basketball athletes is seen from the color of urine and the muscle fatigue measured by using RAST (Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test) by calculating the value of AF (Anaerobic Fatigue) and blood sugar levels is measured using Autocheck measuring instrument.
