They are made of flexible materials, that are more resistant to breaking, and thinner than classic resin prostheses or prostheses with metal con- struction. Due to their chemical composition and the man- ner of fabrication (by injection), they are suitable for cases that show allergies to the residual monomer of classic RPD or to allergens from the metals used for the fabrication of RMD with metal construction. They are more aesthetic because their clasps are made of the same material as the prosthesis, with the color of the tooth or gingiva. Not only RPD can be fabricated from thermoplastic materials, but also full dentures, clasps, fiber-reinforced fixed partial den- tures, temporary crowns and bridges, obturators, speech therapy devices, briquettes and orthodontic retainers, trays for taking a functional impression, occlusal splints, anti “sleep apnea” devices, gingival simulators and pros- thetic implant holders (abutments).","PeriodicalId":161655,"journal":{"name":"Revista e Stomatologëve të Kosovës","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124760523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to their excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility, they can completely replace the use of traditional alloys in modern dentistry. With the progress and development of new technologies, the three-dimensional (3D) printer was designed, namely the technology of creating three-di- mensional physical objects from digital data (CAD-CAM system). The case presented in the paper describes the way of the manufacturing of titanium-ceramic bridg- es, with the help of computer-aided design and printing (CAD-CAM).","PeriodicalId":161655,"journal":{"name":"Revista e Stomatologëve të Kosovës","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124456212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on this, two working models were built in which the mechanical processing and dimen- sions of the orthodontic screws were not changed, and two orthodontic screws were placed from the biomaterial steel and zircon. In this study, a scenario of a case treated with extraction was selected, in which the first premolar was extracted, and the canine retraction was performed on continuous arches (steel 0.0016 x 0.0022) and with brackets of 0.0018’’ slot size. Orthodontic screws is placed between the second premolar and the first molar. A closed spring is suspended from the canine in the direction of or- thodontic screw, which applied a force of 1N. Referring to the achieved results, the value of the maximum principal stress (Pmax), in the cortical bone, was identified in or- thodontic screw made of steel, i.e., zirconium. While the value of the maximum principal stress (Pmax), in trabecu- lar bone, has been identified in steel and zirconium. Based on the conclusions of this research, zirconium may also be used for the production of orthodontic screws.","PeriodicalId":161655,"journal":{"name":"Revista e Stomatologëve të Kosovës","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133804355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thirty-two extracted human teeth were included in this research. The biomechanical processing was done with the crown-down technique and 2% NaOCl and 17% EDTA were used as irrig- ants. After instrumentation, the tooth roots were divided into two experimental groups: 16 teeth of the first group were obturated with the Apexit endodontic paste and 16 teeth of the second group were obturated with the En- doRez endodontic paste. After the obturation of the root canal, the teeth were stored in the Class II Safety Cabinet, Meti SAFE (Lamsystems, Berlin, Germany) for 7 days. For the determination of the leakage, the two-hole method was used and the duration of the research was 33 days. The average time of appearance of leakage in Pulp Canal Sealer was 5.3 days, while in Apexit it was 1.0 days. In the Pulp Canal Sealer group, turbidity appeared in 37.5% of cases, while in the group obturated with Apexit in 6.3% of cases. From our data, it can be concluded that Apexit paste is a better root canal obturation agent compared to Pulp Canal Sealer.","PeriodicalId":161655,"journal":{"name":"Revista e Stomatologëve të Kosovës","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130084807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the data collect- ed by the Clinic of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry on the prevalence of caries in preschool and school age chil- dren of Kosovo, it is evidenced for a high level of the pres- ence of caries. Every disease, which has a wide distribution, and which is influenced by social conditions, besides being a health problem for the patient, is also a public problem at the same time. Since treatment services are not able to act efficiently in dental diseases, then other options, mainly of a preventive nature, should be considered. Recently, more and more priority is given to oral health promotion initia- tives. Health promotion offers opportunities to influence the main determinants of oral health and thus improve oral health in all segments of society. This involves a range of strategies, one of which may be health education. The success of health promotion depends greatly on the devel- opment of the cooperation of a large number of subjects, from the involved population, dental professionals and lo- cal and state institutions. In the strategy for the promotion of oral health in Kosovo, based on our conditions, changing behaviors in improving oral hygiene and reducing intake of sweet food should be considered as a priority during oral health promotion activities.","PeriodicalId":161655,"journal":{"name":"Revista e Stomatologëve të Kosovës","volume":"95 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122629042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Knowning these factors and especially dental ones, can play an important role for their prevention and management by different specialists. A study was conducted in a 9-year school in Tirana where 430 childere, 6-15 years old were clinically examined and filled out a questionare. Data were collectected about the presence/absence of trauma, the affected tooth/teeth, the reason of trauma as well as clinical data on: molar class, overbite, overjet, type of respiration and lip competence. This study showed that dental traumas were present with a prevalence of 26.3% without statistically significant differ- ences between girls and boys.The most effected tooth was the maxillary central incisor. A statistically significant rela- tionship was found between dental trauma with increased overjet and lip incompetence. Associations with other den- tal factors were found, but with non-significant statistical differences.","PeriodicalId":161655,"journal":{"name":"Revista e Stomatologëve të Kosovës","volume":"115 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124707237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The degree of pathological changes in the periodontium mainly affects the choice of the therapeutic method and the success achieved. Non-surgical removal of plaque and calculus is part of the initial phase of man- agement of patients with gingivitis and periodontitis. The therapy consists in the mechanical removal of supra and subgingival plaque deposits, motivation of the patient and instructions for oral hygiene. In this paper, four clinical cases of treatment of periodontal inflammation with cu- rettage of periodontal pockets are presented. Non-surgi- cal treatment is effective in treating periodontal disease. It should always be the first therapy undertaken. Currently, the literature suggests that the use of laser and modern methods for modulating the host response are effective in preventing periodontal inflammation, but however, noth- ing will replace instrumentation during closed curettage.
