Knowning these factors and especially dental ones, can play an important role for their prevention and management by different specialists. A study was conducted in a 9-year school in Tirana where 430 childere, 6-15 years old were clinically examined and filled out a questionare. Data were collectected about the presence/absence of trauma, the affected tooth/teeth, the reason of trauma as well as clinical data on: molar class, overbite, overjet, type of respiration and lip competence. This study showed that dental traumas were present with a prevalence of 26.3% without statistically significant differ- ences between girls and boys.The most effected tooth was the maxillary central incisor. A statistically significant rela- tionship was found between dental trauma with increased overjet and lip incompetence.
