After controlling for fluid intelligence, age and sex, inhibition was negatively related to anxious maladaptive behaviour.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>This study yields valuable evidence on the relationship between performance-based EF and maladaptive behaviour in students with ID and offers important implications for practice.
