In 2010, the Chinese Clinical Nutritionist Center of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association developed the first Chinese guideline on MNT for patients with diabetes, and it was updated in 2015. Since then, new evidence has emerged in the field of MNT and metabolic therapy in patients with diabetes. The Nutrition and Metabolic Management Branch of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care organized a team of experts from related institutions, including the Clinical Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Chinese Diabetes Society, Chinese Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutri-tion, and Chinese Clinical Nutritionist Center of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.
