The object of this research is Reading Friday program in Tasikmadu Junior High School in Karanganyar, Central Java. Data collection uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis is performed using an interactive model, during collection and after completion of data collection. The results of the study indicate that Reading Friday is a program carried out to increase the literacy of students, which was held on third Friday of each month, can be either in class or outdoor, overseen and assessed by teachers through reading notes in assignment books.
