Optimizing preschool education system and enhancing the accessibility of high-quality and low-cost pre-primary schooling help free married women from childcare, boost their labor force participation, and thus, augment the supply of labor. This study discovers that the labor force participation rate of women who enroll all their preschool-age children in kindergartens is 1.32 times that of those who do not do so; and that for working women, preschool attendance of all their kids can increase their working time by four hours per week. 摘要

在中国劳动年龄人口下降、人口红利枯竭的背景下,如何增加劳动力供给已成为关系到经济发展的关键问题。优化学前教育体系,提高高质量、低成本的学前教育可及性,有利于已婚妇女摆脱托儿负担,提高劳动参与率,从而增加劳动力供给。研究发现,将所有学龄前儿童送入幼儿园的妇女的劳动参与率是未将所有学龄前儿童送入幼儿园的妇女的1.32倍;对于职业女性来说,所有孩子上幼儿园可以使她们每周的工作时间增加4小时。根据家庭收入水平和户口类型对样本进行分类后发现,儿童学龄前教育对高收入家庭女性就业概率的提高更为显著,对农村户口女性工作时间的增加更为显著。
