Research on the Eco-towns in Japan based on recycling perspective and the apocalypse to China
Eco-towns in Japan have been developed through a national initiative, which was inaugurated in 1997, aimed to extend the life of existing landfill sites and to revitalize local industries. With years of development, 26 Eco-towns scatters around Japan, with approximately 1.65 billion USD was invested in 61 innovative recycling projects. This paper introduces the general situation of Japanese Eco-towns from a much needed recycling perspective. Subsequently, we take Gifu Prefecture, a typical eco-town in Japan, as an example, specifically analyzing the recycling process of plastic packaging. On this basis, summarize the Japanese experience in Eco-towns construction. Through analyzing the current situation of Chinese Eco-cities, find out the obstacle in construction, and make appropriate suggestions according to the Japanese experience, which is of a great significance to urbanization.
