Abstract

This study presents the analysis of moral values in an Indonesian EFL Textbook “When English Rings a Bell for Grade VII”. The moral values used in this study are proposed by The Ministry of Education and Culture  of Indonesia, which consist of five core values namely religiousity, nationalism, independence, helping each other, and integrity. The objectives of this study are to find out (1) how the moral values are represented in the EFL textbook and (2) how those moral values are integrated in the EFL textbook. 本研究对印尼英语教材《当英语敲响七年级的钟声》中的道德价值观进行了分析。本研究中使用的道德价值观是由印度尼西亚教育和文化部提出的,它由五个核心价值观组成,即宗教,民族主义,独立,互相帮助和诚信。本研究的目的是找出(1)道德价值观是如何在英语教科书中表现出来的(2)这些道德价值观是如何融入英语教科书的。采用定性分析的方法,对教材中所体现的道德价值观进行了内容分析。研究结果表明:(1)英语教材的内容包含了所有五个核心价值观;(2)英语教材所体现的价值观大多是隐性的而不是显性的。
