Abstract

ABSTRACT Systems consolidation solves the stability-plasticity-dilemma and is a persuasive theory within the neuroscience of memory. The study by Tallman et al. (this issue) adds to the current literature showing that brain activity changes over time follow a power function in some neocortical areas but not in the hippocampus. In our comment, we suggest that a power function may, however, not be the only model that needs to be considered for such an analysis.
