Abstract
Across 121 countries, survey respondents without clean drinking water were more likely to report lacking food and experiencing threats to food safety. This pattern was consistent across all country‑income levels. Because of these interlinkages, water insecurity, food insecurity and food safety threats should be addressed through coordinated efforts instead of separate approaches.
