Abstract
Nursing professional development practitioners commit to a lifelong journey of professional development to serve frontline staff and promote their own expertise. However, during role orientation there are minimal opportunities to internalize the concept of professional identity for professional development. A year-long mentorship program for novice nursing professional development practitioners can promote retention and optimize organizational outcomes.
