Honey is unique among bee products because it has a high concentration of medicinal chemicals. In recent years, there has been growing concern about exploring the neuroprotective features of honey. Our article aimed to consolidate existing research on the neuroprotective potential of honey, shedding more focus on its mechanisms of action and therapeutic properties. The literature suggests that honey exhibits neuroprotective properties by attenuating oxidative stress, alleviating neuroinflammation, and enhancing neuronal survival and regeneration. Especially, honey's potential to mitigate neurodegenerative disorders and enhance cognitive function and memory. These reports position honey as a promising candidate for neuroprotection, offering a natural and accessible therapeutic option to combat neurological disorders. Its multifaceted mechanism of action makes it a valuable asset in neurotherapy. However, more research is warranted to clarify the specific compounds responsible for their neuroprotective effects and to optimize their therapeutic application.
