Abstract
Objective
To evaluate the efficacy and satisfaction of users attended in Nurse Demand Management (NDM), 6 months after its implementation.
≥ 14 years cited in NDM (July 1-December 31, 2023). A total of 39.95% of nursing professionals in the area participated.
Interventions
Specific training was provided in accordance with the Framework Document of Castilla y León and its protocols for ordinary and continuous care.
Main measurements
By means of a questionnaire completed after each NDM recording: reason for consultation, nursing interventions performed, resolution and other variables. User satisfaction was assessed by means of an anonymous self-administered Likert-type questionnaire.
Results
5,090 questionnaires were completed (8.52% of consultations). The main reasons for consultation were discomfort when urinating, sore throat, administrative reasons, wounds and upper respiratory symptoms. 21.9% of the reasons for consultation were not included in the protocols.
A total of 34.3% of the consultations achieved autonomous nursing resolution, with greater resolution capacity in rural areas (OR = 2.22; 95% CI: 1.94-2.55). The interventions most related to autonomous resolution were counseling (43.7%) and health education (28.1%).
90% considered that the care received was good or very good and 83% that the health problem was resolved satisfactorily or very satisfactorily.
Conclusions
NDM achieves high population satisfaction, with a low/medium degree of short-term resolution, higher in rural areas. Long-term results need to be evaluated.
