Abstract

In the review the information concerning mechanical properties of two-dimensional (2D) metal borides (MBenes) was collected, systematized and analyzed for the first time. The calculation method and reported values of elastic constants, Young modulus and Poisson's ratio of more than 100 unique chemical compositions of computationally studied and experimentally synthesized MBenes were analyzed and discussed. The influence of surface functionalization on the mechanical properties of MBenes was analyzed based on collected data.
