Abstract
Blended Learning (BL) is a type of learning that has been arousing interest for more than a decade and it has been playing an even greater role since the pandemic. This article sets out the results of a teaching innovation project (TIP) within the framework of blended university education in economics. This research has a dual objective. First, it aims to analyse the extent to which student involvement is stimulated through the use of the specific methodology of whiteboard videos in economics studies. Use of whiteboard videos in economy education is under researched. Second, it analyses how the development of a strong learning community can be enhanced. The results obtained from the analysis of the data taken from a survey show a high level of satisfaction among economics students with the use of these videos as a learning tool and their perception of the positive effect of watching them on encouraging and facilitating the learning process. In addition, the experience allows the lecturers in economy to improve the way they teach and boost the creation of a strong community using novel learning technologies.
