Preparing healthcare professional students for rural, regional and remote practice: demonstrating the effectiveness of an interprofessional simulation learning experience.

The healthcare professional students who participated in the study were from second year occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and podiatry, and third year speech pathology programs. Retrospective pre and post self-assessed interprofessional collaborative competencies were compared for all students using the revised Interprofessional Collaborative Attainment Survey (ICCAS). Results demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in self-perceived scores using the validated revised ICCAS survey.
