Abstract
Neuromorphic computing is a broad, interdisciplinary field that spans across all levels of the compute stack, from applications and algorithms to devices and materials. When designing a new computing system from the ground up, co-design is key. Here, we discuss different types of co-design for neuromorphic systems, and we advocate specifically for omnidirectional co-design. Finally, we discuss recommendations for performing omnidirectional co-design, based on our own experience in the realm of neuromorphic computing.
