Abstract

The problems of main negative effects created by high intensive electromagnetic fields (EMF) in induction systems and the possible technical solutions are described. These effects may be classified in four major groups. The well-known “skin”, “edge” and “end” effects due to non-uniform magnetic field can cause undesirable heating or overheat. The other effects, for example undesirable electromagnetic forces and electromagnetic emission, can influence on reliability and safety of induction system. Negative effects of EMF require special attention and investigation during the designing process and should be taken into account to obtain the satisfactory technical solution. Some results are presented to show the importance of studying and investigation to prevent negative effects for personnel and achieve the quality and high efficiency of technological process.
