Abstract

Requirements engineering has a proven track record in reducing failures in typical IT projects. Big data projects are even more complex in terms of development and they too have experienced a lot of failure. The majority of research has focused on data analysis, the decision-making process and a little less on storage. However, few works have focused on the upstream phase on which all the other development phases depend on it. Our contributions to reduce the failure rate of IT projects lie in the proposal of a requirements engineering process dedicated to the specific characteristics of big data. Particularly in this work, we propose a new method for the activity of requirements analysis for the development of big data projects.
