Tobacco Science & Technology, founded in 1957, is the earliest, most widely circulated and most influential comprehensive academic publication on tobacco scientific research and technology development in China's tobacco industry, supervised by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (SATMA), hosted by the Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute of the China National Tobacco Corporation (CNTC), and edited by the editorial office of Tobacco Science & Technology. It mainly publishes academic papers and research reports on scientific research and technology development in the tobacco industry, as well as review articles reflecting the progress of scientific research and academic developments in tobacco at home and abroad. ‘Tobacco Technology’, “Equipment and Instruments”, “Information Technology”, “Review” and other columns. Over the years, Tobacco Science & Technology has closely focused on the scientific research priorities of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (SATMA) in selecting topics for manuscripts, and is an important source of data for the industry's innovation performance appraisal, identification of enterprise technology centres, assessment and evaluation of the industry's key laboratories and engineering research centres, as well as technical title evaluation, etc., and is also the journal designated by the SATMA for international academic exchanges. It is also a journal designated by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration for international academic exchange.

《烟草科技》期刊创办于 1957 年，是我国烟草行业创刊最早、发行量最大和影响面最广的综合性烟草科学研究和技术开发类学术刊物，由国家烟草专卖局主管、中国烟草总公司郑州烟草研究院主办、《烟草科技》编辑部编辑出版。主要刊登烟草行业科学研究与技术研发方面的学术论文、研究报告以及反映国内外烟草科研进展、学术动态的综述性文章，设置有“烟草农学（含分子生物学）”“烟草化学”“烟草工艺”“设备与仪器”“信息技术”“综述”等栏目。多年来，《烟草科技》紧密围绕国家烟草专卖局的科研工作重点选题组稿，是行业创新业绩考核、企业技术中心认定、行业重点实验室与工程研究中心评估评价以及技术职称评定等的重要基础数据来源期刊，也是国家烟草专卖局指定的国际学术交流刊物。 本刊2003 年被美国《化学文摘》(CA) 和《烟草文摘》(TA) 收录，2005 年被英国《科学文摘》（SA）收录，2013 年被美国《工程索引》(EI) 收录并进入荷兰 Scopus 数据库，2016 年被日本科学技术振兴机构数据库(JST) 收录，2020 年被美国 EBSCO（艾博思科 ) 数据库收录，2023年被英国CAB Abstracts数据库收录，国际学术影响力不断提升。自 2004 年起连续 7 次入选中文核心期刊，并连续入选中国科技核心期刊、中国科学引文数据库 (CSCD) 来源期刊、RCCSE 中国核心学术期刊（A）、《中国核心期刊（遴选）数据库》收录期刊、《中国学术期刊（光盘版）》收录期刊、《中文科技期刊数据库》收录期刊以及《世界期刊影响力指数（WJCI）报告（科技版）》来源期刊，期刊综合影响力和影响因子长期位居我国轻工业类期刊前列。
