Guidarelli","doi":"10.1016/j.ios.2011.12.003","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"<div><h3>Objectives</h3><p>To present a new surgical approach to gummy smile's therapy in adults, analyzing past techniques.</p></div><div><h3>Materials and methods</h3><p>With a review of scientific literature on the subject we analyzed every aspect of the problem “gummy smile” with the aim of presenting a new surgical combined approach in two clinical cases.</p></div><div><h3>Results and conclusions</h3><p>The gummy smile defect has always been a challenge to solve. If in childhood an orthodontic approach is correct, only two ways are available for adults: medical (botox) or surgical.
