Media round table: “Gram-negative pneumonia in mechanically ventilated patients: Challenges, limitations and outlook”☆

The importance of pneumonia as a factor of morbidity and mortality in patients with mechanical assistance suggests that search for new therapeutic approaches may permit improvement: the inhaled administration of Amikacin should permit to achieve very high concentrations deep into lungs. The Round Table summarized in this report has been led by Michael Niederman, with participation of D. Low and K. Corkery.

L’importance des pneumopathies en tant que facteurs de morbidité et mortalité chez les patients sous ventilation mécanique suscite de nouvelles approches thérapeutiques et l’administration d’antibiotiques, telles que l’Amikacine par inhalation et pourrait répondre à la nécessité d’atteindre des concentrations élevées au plus profond des poumons.
