Biochimie des hormones et leurs mécanismes d'action. D-Récepteurs nucléaires
Nuclear receptors are transcription factors that bind cell permeable hormones (steroid hormones, thyroid hormones) or non hormonal molecules (retinoic acid, vitamin D…). Orphan nuclear receptors do not have obvious naturally occurring ligand. Nuclear receptors display a modular structure with similar characteristics: transactivation domain, ligand binding domain (LBD) and DNA binding domain (DBD). The activity of nuclear receptors is regulated by coactivators and corepressors that play a major role in the control of gene expression by nuclear receptors.
