We analyze the historical evolution of this transformation, including the new institutional expressions and their regional and differentiated character throughout Latin America. We also identify the causes fueling the process of institutional differentiation and the “universitization” of technological training. The emerging model seeks to articulate professional technological university systems into economic systems with increasingly differentiated subsystems.
