The xviith Century is one of the less studied of the history of the Canarian Islands, compared with the later ones. This may be due to procedural chained writting which, in many of cases, had been an obstacle to better understand this period. Moreover, we find a lot of documents relative to the Canary Islands outside the archipelago. The report transcribed here, written by the superintendent of the islands in 1659, who was sent by the Indian Council in 1657, holds a fair amount of synthetic and first hand information relative to the demarcation of the Islands, their peoples, and socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of the Archipelago between 1600 and 1659.
