The study aimed to determine the combination of pheromone trap and fruit wrapping effect on cocoa pod damage and trapped insects. The research was conducted on community cocoa plantations in Samigaluh, Kalibawang, and Kokap District, Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta. The experimental was arranged with a randomized block design, four treatments (pheromone trap, fruit wrapping, hormone trap+ fruit wrapping, and no treatment), five replicates, and 20 trees/replication. Six pheromone traps were installed with a distance between the traps of about 40 m. Cocoa fruits treated with wrapping packs were 5 pieces/tree/replication. Insect populations caught in pheromone trap were observed every week, while affected cocoa pods were at harvest. The results showed that CPB caught in a pheromone trap in single and combination treatments were the same (3%). Other insects trapped in the pheromone trap and the combination treatments of pheromone+fruit wrapping were also the same (97%). Insects caught were mostly the Hymenoptera family (48%), Araneae (13-17%), Diptera (16%), Coleoptera (5-8%), and Lepidoptera (5-7%), while CPB caught was only 0-7. Cocoa pods attacked in the pheromone trap treatment were not significantly different (60.95%) from the control (64.33%), whereas CPB attacks were significantly different in the combination treatment (6.02%) compared to fruit wrapping alone (5.57%).
