Arylsulfatase A is required to degrade sulfatides. Sulfatides occur in the myelin sheets of the central and peripheral nervous system. In this study we evaluated the urine activity of lysosomal enzyme arylsulfatase A in brain‑dead donors as a marker and predictor of short - and long‑term renal allograft function.\n\n\nPATIENTS/METHODS\nWe analyzed data from kidney recipients who received organs from brain‑dead donors.
