Acoustic birefringence at electromagnetic excitation of sound in iron borate crystals
In the antiferromagnetic single crystal of iron borate the effect of electromagnetic generation of the sound of transverse polarization is studied. In an external magnetic field the acoustic birefringence is detected. Data on the magnitude of magnetoelastic gap are obtained.
